Eric Simmons
Eric Simmons is a self-taught artist from Conyers and Athens, Georgia who has been painting with oils and showing his work in galleries, juried exhibitions, and local businesses for ten years. He also works in acrylic, watercolor, pastels, block printing, and ink (with an especial fondness for brush ink drawing). His gestural sketching style serves as the foundation for his paintings, a style that captures the raucous vitality, transitory lighting, and off-guard glances, expressions, and interactions that Eric depicts in carnival and fair-scapes, restaurant scenes and galas - any venue where showmanship, costume, and pretense join with uninhibited carousal. His work both celebrates and lampoons.

Having studied printmaking, bookmaking (with poetry), and letterpress at UVA and the Virginia Arts of the Book letterpress in Charlottesville, she has ventured into screenprinting, watercolor, and oil pastel since moving to Athens (where there is sadly no community letterpress and fewer galleries but where there are thankfully more artful citizens). Jessie enjoys the Dutch Vanitas style, still lives, and portraits, and concentrates experimentation in format rather than subject.

John and Elizabeth Tong
Elizebeth Tong was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and has lived in the South for most of her life. Since she was a child, she has been fascinated by cultures around the world, and has sought to learn as much as she can about each of them. Cultures of the Far and Middle East especially interested her, as the food, clothing, music and customs were so different from her own.
She currently resides in Athens, Georgia, after living in Savannah for 5 years. Always interested in new ways to adorn the body, she graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a major in metals and jewelry, where she also took classes in drawing, 2-d design, and oil painting.

Laurel Hill
My jewelry is hand-fabricated from sterling silver,
with wood, bone, stone, and the occasional found
object. I gather inspiration from nature, history,
anthropology, literature, dreams, and especially
biology-- birth, decay, death, and rebirth provide
endless references. I strive for excellent
craftsmanship while maintaining the mark of the human
hand... machined perfection makes me nervous. My
goal is to create jewelry that's meaningful as well as
unconventional and beautiful.

Sarah Kirkpatrick
My name is Sara, and I am a lover/creator of all things cute. Not too cute, mind you. I try to add just the right amount of humor and attitude into the mix when I can. I have a BFA in studio art/ photography, and I spend my free time creating (drawing, printing, painting, photographing, sewing) cupcakes and birds and funny-looking animals with bad habits (stealing blueberries, for example). I am also an incurable perfectionist, so you can be sure that a great amount of time and effort goes into even the simplest of items. I hope you will enjoy the world of blueberry bandit!

Soup Studios
As a young child, Jamie Voivedich, the founder of Soup Studios, had a great affinity for soup, and preferred it for every meal. What started as a family joke turned into a life-long nickname. There is no doubt "Soup" is easier to spell than "Voivedich". In the fall of 2000, as Jamie was founding her pottery studio, it was obvious which name would stick, and Soup Studios was born.
Though clay is her primary medium, architecture still informs the way she visualizes and builds her work. Her creative process involves a great amount of detail and precision, and is always concerned with structure, a sensibility developed by her study of architecture and interior design. Both pottery and architecture strive to be structurally sound, yet aesthetically pleasing in the way they shape space. You will find these shared principles in Jamie's approach to her work.
